We learn to relax after a hard working week and how to warm up (this skill will come in handy for the next six months).
It is with peeling, and not a relaxing bath, it is customary to begin a spa procedure (be it salon or home). “When the skin is free of dead cells, and the pores open, the penetration of nutrients that you add to the bath will improve,” explains Lily Lyashenko, an expert at Beauty SPA by World Class. “ In addition, if you use a scrub after a swim, there is a risk of overdoing it: a product with a rough abrasive can damage steamed skin.”
As you understand, it is already clean to go to the bath: why swim in the street dust, which settled on the skin during the day, when you can add things to the water that are much more useful. “Seaweed (whole, ground into powder or in the form of a solution) improves the performance of capillaries, improves blood circulation and increases lymphatic drainage,” says Lily Lyashenko. – But here it is important not to have contraindications from the endocrine system: if a person takes drugs that affect the thyroid gland, you should consult with a specialist before such a bath. ” Sea salt and mud have excellent drainage and tonic functions – they can also be added to water.
Plus, essential oils, through which you can cheer up (citrus), relax (mint, juniper, verbena, cistus) or tune in to the romantic mood (sandalwood, patchouli, jasmine, rose, ylang-ylang). And even better – a mix of several. Nevertheless, it is simpler and more useful not to play the alchemist, but to go to the store for a specially made tool, and here’s why.
Pure essential oils do not dissolve in water, so they must first be mixed with some basis: cream, milk or vegetable oils. This time. Secondly, concentration is extremely important – 3–4 drops are enough for a large bath , and overdose can cause skin irritation or headache. And finally, a competent mix of esters can only be made by a professional. So if you are not so, it is better to get special pills, solutions or fragrant bath salts – their compositions are already perfectly balanced. And even better – a mix of several. Buy a water thermometer
Water temperature is also an important indicator. “If you want to achieve a tonic effect, you need a cool bath, 35 – 36 degrees,” continues Lily. “ And for relaxation, warm is better, but not above 38 (if the water is too hot, it will negatively affect the cardiovascular system, and even in a healthy person the pressure may rise).” It is recommended to bathe in a warm bath for no longer than 20 minutes: during this time the water will gradually cool down, which will have an additional sedative effect. And if you chose a cool tonic bath, it is not forbidden to add warm water there (you shouldn’t have to knock your teeth).
Having taken a bath, you need to take a horizontal position: wrap yourself with a blanket and spend 20 or 30 minutes like that .
Muffled light is one of the prerequisites for a complete relaxation. But this is not the only reason for “giving fire”: an aromatic candle will literally change the atmosphere of a bathroom. Think about what you associate with peace of mind – it can be generally accepted relaxing notes like lavender or something personal: the smell of ginger cookies from your grandmother’s oven or the scent of roses that bloom on a country lawn in summer. It is on these perfumes worth betting.
Make a wrapping
Ready to get a little dirty for a good relaxing effect? Then take out a mask or body wrap: with proper use, you can count almost on the salon effect. “While you are lying in the bath, put a little money in the water bath and warm up to 37 degrees,” advises Lily. “A warm mask will be more pleasant to apply on the skin, plus this trick will improve the penetration of the active ingredients into the skin.” After applying, roll yourself into the plastic wrap, go to bed and ask your family to wrap you up properly. And after 20 minutes, rinse with warm water without soap.
Master the technique of self-massage
Can’t imagine a full-fledged spa day without a massage? Everything is in your hands, and in the literal sense. “You can relieve tension from your muscles on your own,” says Alexander Mironenko, a cosmetologist over the body of Encore Spa. – Find a pain point and work it well with your fingers: movements should be circular or eight-shaped. You can start this massage with a few minutes a day, gradually increasing the time. And after 3 -4 days of regular self-massage, if not lost, the pain will decrease significantly. ”
Worried back, and stretching does not allow you to reach the pain point? In this case, the usual tennis ball comes in handy. Alexander advises to pinch him between the back and the wall and roll painful places. “There is one more good exercise that I recommend to do absolutely everyone after waking up,” Mironenko continues. – Sit on the bed, close your eyes and imagine that you are pulling your head up. This will help to relax the cervical well. “
